On Men and Women in Ministry and Leadership in the Presbyterian Church of Australia

God has created men and women to lead God's people together with qualified men in specific offices, and men and women in a variety of positions and ministries across the church.

At its 2023 General Assembly, the Presbyterian Church of Australia received a discussion paper from the Women's Ministry Committee and approved its recommendations (deliverances).

Our recommendations therefore are grounded in the idea of complementarian partnership in action. The best women's ministry will be done when men and women work well together.

As the paper argues, church courts at every level can be proactive in listening to women, inviting them into spaces where they can speak and serve, and be more proactive in seeking to equip women to lead and minister in our churches.
